Redo

I decided, after much anguish, that I did NOT like the way I had finished the Urchin, so, one last time, here he is FINISHED!! No more tweaks. I am done!  Fini!
Remounted and FINI
I also added some little metal beads to the bare, empty spots to suggest sand grains. These are gorgeous little beads, faceted pewtery coloured and very sparkly in a delicate sort of way, given to me by a very kind friend!

I am a MUCH happier camper :-)

As requested!

Some of the border quilting.

Beading in the centre

These are some og the little beads I am going to use around the green border.

Another corner quilted. This shows the beads pretty well.

This is all finished now. I should have waited to take the pictures!!!
I have been asked to show some photos of the beading on the Reemay project. Here they are. They are all small beads, scattered loosely over the whole piece. The border will have some beading too but I have not gotten that far yet. I did finish the quilting of the border and the beading of the centre tonight.Tomorrow, hopefully I will back this little piece.

Some beading on the reemay

I started some of the edge quilting and continued with beading today. I am happy so far but really have to decide what to do with this in the end. I am thinking a pillowcase turned edge - no border. If you look closely though, you will see that this is not too square and I have some beads that will need removing while I sew the edge. That is called, ""PLAN AHEAD, EEJIT!" However, I was not expecting this to be as happy an outcome as it is becoming. Anyway, here it is - to date!
the centre beaded

one corner- beads are too close to the edge!

centre and one side beaded- mostly

The whole thing in a poor picture as it was draped over a cushion , so hard to get a good focus. You get the idea!

OK, tomorrow, onward ! If you have any great ideas for finishing, let me be thie first to know- PLEASE!

Gotta Get Rolling!

Enough with the Christmas break, already! I want to get back to work. Time's a -wasting! I did these two little experiments in burned felt in the summer and want very much to do some more - serious stuff! These two were just for fun. It has been very hard to get good picures of them because of the sparkles but I think these are ok.

This is a little out of focus but I think you can see what it is . Burned and stitched acrylic felt , beaded, with Angelina fibres and melted Tyvek beads.

The whole piece

Just the centre

This is SO much fun to do. I have several more bits started but really want to do a serious piece - carefully. This is burned acrylic felt too, lots of beads and sequins mounted on silver foil organza and bits of old lace.

Golden Inchies

Little golden spiral

Happy New Year everyone . New Year, New Every Inchie Monday for 2012. Let's make it a really creative one .
I made these using grey embossed acrylic felt as a base . Then I fused gold hot transfer foil onto the felt for an interestingly textured substrate - and I sat beading them on Christmas eve while I watched lovely choral concerts on TV.

I hope and trust that you are all well and that you have survived the festive Season. I did, but barely. Now I need to walk a LOT to wear off all of that turkey.
